So I got my stuff for English finished. And I made up missing wordcount from yesterday.

That's about it.

I still have to do today's 2k and also that ten-paragraph government midterm paper I've been putting off for weeks that's due tomorrow... and also at least some of the relevant reading, because I do believe I'm expected to quote shit. My wordcount is currently 6277 and I picked which of the two prompts I'm going to write and I have done absolutely nothing else because I'm a fucking loser!

Real college students procrastinate, kids.

I have at least been vaguely social in the form of making posts in the NaNo forums, so I guess there's that. I wouldn't have thought of posting last year at all - hell I wouldn't have thought of posting last month - so at least I've worked up the nerve to shout into the abyss. (Also Amber asked for photos of my Aradia costume and I linked her to the post I made and she reblogged it and said I was really cute! 0//////////0 That kind of made my day a little bit.)

So far, in the last 6k words, I've learned that Jacob eats a metric fuckton (this is probably going to be something mages in general do) and that he's being a little shithead and decided he didn't want to act like John, and furthermore that he didn't want to be the generic male protagonist, either! On the one hand, at least he's more interesting, but on the other hand... dude, you're going off-outline! Stop fucking up my plans!

He hasn't warmed up to Gareth as much as I thought he would. This is probably because he's neither your typical magical girl candidate nor (apparently) your generic male protagonist, and so just because Gareth saved his life doesn't mean he's going to hop to Gareth's quest and start the fucking plot like a good little protagonist. (It's also partly Gareth's fault for doing his best Kyubey impression, because Kyubey is a creepy little fucker. And if Jacob were supposed to be Madoka it might even work, but Gareth is supposed to be Kero in this analogy and that makes Jacob Sakura, which means he's supposed to decide to start collecting the magic plot devices already damn it.)

I've introduced another character, one who we won't be properly meeting until the end of the book, although she will pop in from time to time before then. (Actually I think she has three more appearances until the characters learn who she is.) And then I realised as I started writing the Jacob section after that that, uh, her bit should probably break up Jacob's morning routine and him actually being at school. Which would be fine, because I can just move it later, except... I have to actually get Jacob to school, first. And he's decided he'd rather wake up early and then bum around the kitchen drinking coffee with his dad. Put some fucking clothes on and get an Egg McMuffin or something, asshole! (Or even better, get some Breakfast Jacks. It's not like the Jack-in-the-Box isn't right next to your fucking school. I know it is, because you go to my old school!)

...Actually, he totally should get some Breakfast Jacks and also some bacon cheddar fries, because those things are delicious and he eats a metric fuckton and would therefore appreciate the calories anyway and oh shit I made myself hungry. I guess I'll go heat up some leftovers or something. (And cover them in shredded cheese because some genius bought some and then didn't put it on his shelf, so it's fair game.)

Today I read a ridiculous amount of Harry Potter fanfiction. I also got my eyes examined, ordered new glasses, and cooked dinner. All in all, I'd say it was a vaguely productive day.

I am supposed to wear reading glasses, although I haven't been for over a year. This is because my old glasses went rogue last May, and I haven't seen them since. Now, I got through the end of junior year and all of senior year without them, first because the insurance wouldn't cover a whole new set of glasses until the start of this year, and after that because my mum was a bit busy trying to put in as much work as possible at her job so that she could stay employed. Let me tell you, being farsighted and spending most of your time either reading or on the internet is not fun. (I can see just fine at any distance, but it's harder for my eyes to focus on things that are up close, like a book or a computer screen, so I get tired a lot and get crazy headaches when I don't wear glasses. Which is funny, because people always say that television and video games will make you dumb and also nearsighted. I guess I'm just contrary.)

Um, but anyway! Then I went grocery shopping, ended up buying a ton of chicken (individually wrapped breasts, in fact), and when I got home lathered two of them in bbq sauce and baked them. They were good. The bacon mac and cheese I made (from a pouch, last time I do that) was not so good, but I've had worse. In all, it was a meal rather reminiscent of prom (at which there was tri-tip, garlic mashed potatoes, bbq chicken, and mac and cheese with bits of ham mixed in).

Plus, you know, the chicken was good. One more thing I can cook! :D

I still want to go see the new Transformers film, and as I actually have money to spare now, I shall probably see if anyone would like to go do that. (Perhaps they would not, though, as I've asked people out to do things almost every week of summer so far. Still, I can always ask.) And in the meantime, I've got me some Lair of the Shadow Broker to play. ♥

Today was a productive day! First I drew cards for Pinky and Shiki - it was their birthday. Then I went to their party! I didn't get to stay long, though, because I had college orientation. I'm officially a college student now, btw. Classes are all registered and paid for! Now I just need to find out what books I need, and um, learn to drive, so that I can actually, you know, get to class. That might be kind of important, I think.

Anyway, then I went out with mum and bought myself a new tablet. It's an Intuos! :D It's so fucking gorgeous, I'm still giddy about it. Then we went to Fridays and I... didn't actually eat all that much, really. Mum insisted on potato skins, and I tried some with sour cream, which was weird. It was, like, an anti-flavour or something. Then I shocked mum by getting my cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato on it - and with a side salad! (I basically have a total vendetta against all vegetables - tomatoes are actually my second most mortal enemy, you know.) The salad actually had cherry tomatoes but I let mum have those; it was just as well, because I couldn't quite tell if I liked the tomato on the burger or not. I'll have to try it again sometime. There was also some cucumber, and I got the chance to taste it without seaweed. It was kind of weird, but not in a bad way, I don't think. Like I said, though, I didn't eat very much - all the salad (though it was pretty small) and about a third of the burger. I just wasn't very hungry.

I'm ravenous now, of course, but we haven't got much easily-snackable stuff except for chocolate, and I... don't really want chocolate right now.

Also, I thought my day was great! Then I got home and found both cats on my bed - normally not a bad thing - and also that one of them decided to use my bed as a litter box. |:< I needed to change the sheets anyway, but still. Not how I wanted to do it. And then I got my lovely Intuos all set up, only to find that GIMP had apparently decided to save my most recent piece with a compression mode that it can't read. I spent hours on that - I had to basically draw the entire thing in GIMP, because the scan wasn't finished and wasn't very good, either - so I'm pretty pissed about that.

I need to think of a name for both my new tablet and the flash drive I bought with it. (I must have, like, six flash drives at this point. I can actually find three of them! That is, oddly, amazing.) I have no idea what to call them, but I'm sure I'll come up with something.

I've learned that I can't slice potatoes properly! Oh well, they'll still taste bacony and delicious. I'm currently frying up some potatoes for some bacon and potato hash, and this marks the first time that I've 1) fried potatoes and 2) cooked bacon. I'm not expecting it to be particularly tasty, but still, it's bacon and potatoes. You can't really screw that up. (I would have made a bacon and potato frittata, which is admittedly easier to screw up than a hash, but big bro doesn't like eggs, so it's just a hash for us.)

I meant to work on my Frankenstein project today, and I didn't. I did figure out the very basic idea of what I'm going to do with it, though... maybe I'll start on it later. /: Also meant to read more Pride and Prejudice, which... also didn't happen. Oops! I don't really mind though. Because I spent the day playing Magician's Quest, and catching up on my blog for it. And also cooking. And also reading The Exiled Queen, which isn't the book I wanted to buy yesterday but is a good book nonetheless.

Anyway, yeah, blogging games. I don't know why I'm doing it, but right now I'm doing two: Pokémon Soul Silver and Magician's Quest. It's fun, even if it's kind of time consuming. Still, it's not as bad as a full-out screenshot LP!

And then I found out that the best Disney film ever was on, so that made today even better. And the hash didn't turn out too bad, either! Everything's rather crispy, but in a good way. I kind of wish I'd made more, though, haha.

So, rest of tonight: watch some film, take a shower, do some Frankenstein Abridged: The Graphic Novel. Maybe play more Soul Silver, too, since I haven't for a couple of days.

edit: And after everybody finished eating there was still enough for me to have seconds, hell yes! :D

So I thought I could find a nice quiet room to work on my novel outline, in the form of Mr Williams's classroom, but apparently he does tutor training during fourth block, so... yeah, no. So I came home instead. Genius me brought my physics book home, even though I actually need my soc book... oops. (Note to self: don't be lazy next time, just go to your locker and swap books.)

That said, it's noon, and I have nowhere to be for the rest of the day! This is awesome. There should totally be more minimum days on not-Monday-and-Wednesday.

I've gotten to the action-y bits in Christian's Inferno, finally. It started out really slow and the beginning is full of awkward, but it's not like I need a finished idea, just something I can work with come November. I also got a new name for that world I couldn't name (Dracoterra - guess what that world is about!) and new names for the gods in Janus Project-verse, since I jacked them from Greek mythology but I'm already doing something else with Greek mythology, earlier (arc four, or maybe arc five). Fantasy name generators can give a ton of crap but occasionally they also can give decent names!

I think I'm going to go cook something for lunch now. :9

Making pasta~ :9 Part of me wants to scramble up an egg to go with it, but I think that's the same part of me that comes up with positively hideous colour palettes, so I'm not listening to it. (Maybe I'll make fried rice some other time; that's a good excuse to scramble up an egg or two, I guess.) Another part of me wants to try melting some parmesan cheese into some butter or something and make a sauce like that, and I'm not sure if that's the same part that's going on about the egg. x: The water's not even boiling yet, so I guess I can google that and see how farfetched it really is.

Also, I tried playing La Tale again. Only to run into the exact same issues I had when my internet connection was less stable; that is, the game insisting that it can't connect. Maybe it's my laptop...?

I've been watching cooking shows all day. Maybe that's why I'm so hungry.

So earlier I was writing up a post about how my internet was borked because the cable was broken and I suspected something was wrong with the laptop as well. Mum surprised me by, after I told her we needed a new ethernet cable or no internet for anyone, coming out of her room five minutes later ready to go out and buy a new ethernet cable. (She's addicted to Vampire Wars on Facebook; I think that's the only reason she took this seriously.) There wasn't anything wrong with the computer, either; just a bit of plastic from the old ethernet cable stuck in the port. I shook it out and all was well, and I also don't have to worry about losing my internet connection at random intervals by the ethernet cable being knocked loose, so I can play MMOs again if I want to.

I spent the last hour or so reading a blog about a teacher eating school lunch every day and, well, blogging about it, in order to raise awareness about how school lunch sucks. I can't really disagree with her, and it really doesn't get better; the quality might go up a little when you hit junior high/high school, at least where I live (although really that just means that they basically only sell the food that they know the students will eat), but you pay for it with higher prices. Personally, when I eat lunch at school I mostly eat an assload of carbs, and I can easily spend just $5 on a slice of pizza, a bagel, tater tots, and a teeny tiny little bottle of water. I usually don't eat all that at once, though; it's expensive and there are other things I'd rather spend my money on, so most of the time I just don't eat at lunch at all.

In less depressing news, more SoulSilver talk! I'm in Azalea Town now, finished the Slowpoke Well this morning. Earlier I tried leaving for the forest so I could train a bit, but I got held up by my rival. His starter was level eighteen... I feel like I'm slacking a little. ): He only managed to KO one of my team, though (his Quilava offed my Poliwag) so it wasn't all that bad.

...well, except for the part where my Mareep evolved at the end! :C I don't like Flaaffy or Ampharos; I just don't like the way they look. I want my little lightning sheep to be my little lightning sheep forever ): But I was trying to plug in the iPod charger one-handed at an awkward angle, so he evolved before I could cancel it. ): So I shut off the game without saving, lol. I'll just fight Luke again; maybe this time his stupid fire-type won't KO my only water-type. |:

I like eating meal-type foods when I'm gaming. Like mashed potatoes and chicken, or hot dogs, or burgers, or mac and cheese, or pizza. I try to avoid greasy foods then, but it doesn't usually work out that way. ^_^; I'm definitely more militant about it when doing homework, though. Food on textbooks/assignments = bad.

I like snacking on warm things, too. Chips and chocolates are fine, but if all I've been eating all day has been vending machine snacks, then I'm going to want something more like real food, even if it's just like bagel bites or tater tots.

A-also, ice cream is best when I'm watching things on the computer. :D Nothing beats sitting there with a pint of ice cream and a spoon while watching someone suck ass at Super Metroid 8D (Unless that someone is me, haha.)

...and now I'm really hungry. ): Chicken alfredo, I want to eat you sooner D:

Christmas gifts are many and varied, and that's just from the troop. I really do think my favorite is the card that Melissa drew me. Josh, Ovan, and a metroid drinking tea together. <3! Party in first block, nobody ate the food I brought except for, you know, us. Second block I managed to actually beat somebody at Tin Pin! :D Unfortunately, I only won two out of five. ): Third block is somewhat of a kind of party; well, there's pizza, anyway. I probably actually ate more than I should have, because there's pizza next block, too. \: Seeing Avatar today! :D! In IMAX-3D, at that! :D! It'll be interesting to see how that pans out. (:

Unearthed season 1 of Dexter; I've got it on in the background as I do artsy things in Photoshop. Not wearing my glasses, though I probably should be.

Am slowly but surely learning to drive! Mostly this consists of my brother pointing out all the illegal shit other people do on the road whenever I'm in the car with him (which is probably every weekend or so), but last weekend he started teaching me to shift, so... improvement!

The only problem with this is that it's making me think of how great it will be when I can drive myself around and do things like buy pizza. Which sucks, because last weekend we picked up some Little Caesar's and right now I am so craving more, but I can't drive to the damn pizza place and there's no way in hell I'm walking down to Fremont Blvd and back for pizza. It's just not happening.

Also, I think I've solved the mystery of the spazzing cat: he has fleas. No wonder he's been so sensitive lately, but of course it never occurred to mum to check his fur for fleas.

...I need a food icon. x:
