Got another two hours of FFXIII time in~ I'm halfway through chapter three, now. ♥ I really hope Snow and Serah get their happy ending; I think they deserve it. I'm also still liking Hope; he acts normally, like a normal person, so it's... kind of nice, actually. And Lightning is acting more like a human being! And I also realised why the FFXIII set is called The New Tale of the Crystal... because there are a lot of crystal motifs in the game. I mean, that lake you get tossed in at the beginning of chapter three? Crystal. Character development? Crystal. Important bit of plot-relevant legend? Crystal. Combine that with the gigantic crystal that seems to be in every FFvsXIII trailer, there are... a lot of crystals in this set. *____*
Also, something that bothers me: when video games mix mythologies. What brought this on was the characters of FFXIII referring to Ragnarok. Now, if there had been some other references to Norse mythology, then I might not be bothered, but no; so far, there isn't. In fact, the legends of Cocoon have absolutely nothing to do with Norse mythology at all! So what's Ragnarok doing in there? (I have the same problem with the first DMC, where there's a reference to Avalon - firstly, it's jarring, because hi there first name! and secondly, there are no other references to the legends of King Arthur in that game at all.) I guess it wouldn't be that annoying if a person didn't know much about the mythologies involved, or maybe I'm just weird like that, but it bugs me. |:
I'm going to have to start packing soon e_e; I don't actually want to, but it's too late to not show up now. And it's not even the booth sale I've got a problem with; it's just the sleepover after. I'm slowly becoming way way more introverted ¬_¬; If all else fails I can just play Metroid, I mean, the little kid theme surely extends to all the games we played as little kids. (Even if I never actually played Metroid as a kid. I guess I could always play Phantasy Star instead. I've got that for GBA, too. ...hmm, I wonder where my Pokémon TCG cart went.)
