So I guess I'm writing the Great American Persona 3 Fanfiction. (As opposed to the Great American Novel, which a couple of my friends are trying their hands at.) I can't seem to come up with a title for it that I actually like, but for now I suppose it's 'Death and All Her Friends' /: (Incidentally, 'Death and All His Friends' would be the perfect title for it if I were writing male!MC, but I'm, uh, not.)

In other news, my precal class is officially a load of crap - teacher doesn't actually explain things, then, when called on it, says that he usually does but yesterday was a fluke, we'll do better now... and then proceeds to do exactly the same thing. It's like physics class, but worse, because physics wasn't reliant on a bunch of algebra concepts that I haven't seen in three years, if I've ever seen them at all. |:< And, of course, said teacher seems to think that the hardest problems in the section - the ones I usually just write in the answer on if it's in the textbook, because hell if I know how to solve them - are great examples, and those are the kinds of problems that should be on the test. I mean, I get the difficulty level of a problem being "If you understand the example problems you should be okay," but when it's more like "You'll only get this right if you've been TRAINING ALL YOUR LIFE FOR PRECAL" then that's just ridiculous.

In other news, still level 32 in Latale! I've been crafting more lately, which means grinding mining, which means not fighting monsters. Though I did kill 40 more privarings, so now I'm at 50/99.

Working on finishing up P3P, as well - I've never actually beaten Persona 3 before, but I'm pretty close. I'm still grinding Yukari and Ken so that I can beat the World Balance fairly easily - at least, I think it's the World Balance; it's that one Tartarus boss that is only vulnerable to pierce damage. I started the other day in the middle of block four, and I'm almost at the top of block five; just half of block six to go! (Well, all of block six, ideally; I'd like to finish Tartarus now so that I don't have to waste time later. Plus, narratively, reaching the top of Tartarus - for reals this time! - on the last day of winter vacation is pretty great.)

Also, I think I'm sick. I think I might have caught whatever the girl who sits next to me in journalism has - she's been sick-ish all week, and yesterday she left early because she felt like crap (the fever she was running probably wasn't helping with that). I don't seem to have a fever right now, but time will tell, I guess.

At least there's a new Pokémon film on tonight: Zoroark Master of Illusions. I'm pretty psyched for that, if nothing else.

Of course, then I took some benadryl and a nap, and now I feel better, so maybe I'm not sick. That's fine, too.

I almost liveblogged the film, but I was too lazy to get up and get my computer /: Still, it was pretty good! I almost cried. I feel no shame in admitting that. It was sad. But everything got better, so that's cool, too!

At the recommendation of some friends, I've started watching Puella Magi Madoka Magica. "It's a magical girl anime by Shaft!" was the recommendation. Now, I am not all that familiar with Shaft, but I do love me some magical girl anime. It started out okay, though right off the bat I noticed something a little... off, about it. (I was promised a mind screw, but at the time I had forgotten about that.)

Then I watched episode three. Then I saw the end of episode three. And then I remembered the mind screw I was promised, and realised that it had arrived.

I think it's supposed to be a deconstruction of the magical girl genre, but I might have to watch more to be sure. Needless to say, it is not for little girls. I've actually seen it compared to Neon Genesis Evangelion - and though I never actually watched the whole of that, I know the basic premise: It gets worse.

So I've only watched the first three episodes of Madoka Magica, but I think I have an idea of where it's going from there. And, while I might have to duck out to hit up some lighter fare in between episodes, I think I'm going to like where it's going. (Now, if I can just find season three of Nanoha for that something lighter...)
