(no subject)

Ironing on patches has never been so difficult. Of course, it would have helped if I'd thought to iron through the back before I spent forty minutes trying to do it the other way... e_e;

I get to spend next week completely off the grid, in the name of SCIENCE!! ...Actually, it's in the name of journalism, but still. I'm doing it with a friend, partly so she'll have someone to commiserate with and partly so that I'll (probably) actually sit down and read the stupid book for my book review article and, you know, write the article. (Of course, I may end up having to get a different book... I picked one called Black Hole Sun, partly because teenage mercenaries on Mars sounds cool and partly because the main character's life sucks majorly and I think the student body in general enjoys that kind of thing. Although, if that one doesn't work out, then I'll just use Gideon's Sword. The student body doesn't like Preston and Child? Too bad!)

I also bought a couple of how-to manga books, because I buy those all the time. One of them I don't even know why I picked it up except maybe because I have the three others in the series - I really really dislike the character designs and all the little comments the editors (authors? artists?) put in, particularly about drawing the female characters in them. It's pretty horrible. The other one is about magical girls, and is both more palatable and more useful. I can't really make use of either of them until after noon, though, because that's when I get back from sales.

Anyway, there's more ironing in my future, so I guess I'd best get back to it...
