Thursday, 14 July 2011 03:52 pmJust like I don't understand how I can be on the computer or reading all day long and end up far-sighted, I don't understand how I always manage to fuck up my left wrist when I'm right-handed.
It doesn't make sense!
In other news, today there was a blackout. Those two and a half hours taught me how very much I love and depend on electricity. For example: I was really hungry. But I couldn't use the toaster oven, because, you know, no power. But we have a gas stove! So I could still cook something - except that everything that could be cooked is in the refrigerator, which I guess you're not supposed to open when there's a power outage because then everything in it stays cool longer or whatever.
There was no internet, because the modem and the router need power. And I couldn't play Mass Effect, which is what I usually do when the cable goes out and the internet with it, because I can only play about forty minutes before my laptop's battery dies, and there was no power to recharge it with.
I was so bored, guys. So bored.
I ended up going outside and drawing for a bit (because there was more light outside) and then when I got tired of that I played with my cat for a while, and then I just kind of despaired and waited for the power to come back on. Which it did. Eventually.
