Going to the cinema with friends, but in the meantime I have just enough time to write a post!

At my local cinema, sometimes you buy tickets at the ticket booth and sometimes you buy them at the concessions stand. This confuses me to no end. There is no rhyme or reason to when the ticket booth is open and when it is not. Additionally, when you walk in you're instantly greeted by a guy who asks you if you want to buy your tickets. Which makes sense, because you can't exactly do anything without tickets.

What doesn't make sense is that this is the same guy who rings up your concessions, at the same exact register. But when you're buying your tickets, you don't stand in the concessions line. But it's the same guy at the same register for people who are in the concessions line. And, if you wanted to buy concessions, you could buy your film ticket at the same time, and then you would be standing in line!

It confuses me. If there's a line, then you should be in it. But there are two lines. Except that there's only one line. If you're only buying a ticket, but not concessions, are you cutting in front of the people who are buying concessions since you didn't even stand in line in the first place? Or it it accepted practice? I don't know!

This is why I don't go to the cinema alone. I would be entirely frozen in confusion. Fortunately, with friends, it's easy to just kind of do whatever.

edit: Thanks, Livejournal, for logging me out between when I opened up the post editor and when I actually hit post! It's just what I've always wanted! /sarcasm
