I am where productivity goes to die.
Yesterday, I told myself, I was going to write my English paper, and then today I would write my media paper. Only then I got a story idea in my head that wouldn't let go, and I figured that if I just got it out I might be able to work on my paper. I then proceeded to spend all of yesterday writing that, and not my paper.
Okay, I told myself, no need to worry. Today, I can write my English paper, and then tomorrow I can write my media paper. It's a bit tighter of a schedule than I'd like, but I can manage it. In fact, I'll just get this one little idea out and then start doing my paper at eleven.
Only, at eleven I was still on a roll, so I thought, Well, I'll just finish this little bit. The next thing I knew it was 12:30 and I was still going strong. Then it was 1:30 and I still hadn't finished that 'little bit'. My stats class is about to start and - you guessed it - I'm still not finished.
So I'm going to have to write this paper when I get home, for sure, and I absolutely cannot let anything keep me from doing it, because it's due tomorrow and I really really need to write it. Then tomorrow, once I'm over the stress of that paper, I get to do the same thing for my media paper! Fortunately, my standards for that class are not as high, so it should be easier to pull off.
...I hope.
