You'd think I would have made a concert post sooner, but things didn't quite work out that way. Anyway, here's the Concert Post. /nods

So first we went to this Japanese restaurant. It was pretty good, but it was also pretty Japanese. I felt extremely awkward and I didn't actually eat all that much. I tried some kappamaki but passed on basically everything else (though it wasn't all that bad, really, it's just that I really don't like nori). I did get some stuff from the robata grill, though: some steak skewers, some chicken and pork combination that was on a stick and tasted good, and some yakionigiri. On a stick. That was probably the tastiest thing I had... which probably says a lot about the way I was feeling that day.

Then we were off to the Fox Theatre! Let me tell you about the Fox Theatre. It is a gorgeous venue. It's just absolutely beautiful. I think Ruchia spent at least five minutes just staring in awe at the décor. It was that nice.

It also seems to be very fond of stairs. We sure climbed up enough of them.

There were merch table shenanigans, involving queues that wound up stairs and jackets in some guy's car and three trips total to the table to get one of said jackets, but in the end I got a jacket, so that's fine.

There were two opening bands: The Architects and Neon Trees. I can't say much about The Architects, because we spent most of their set in the merch line and what little of them I saw once we got to our seats didn't leave much of an impression on me. I can't say much about Neon Trees, either, though they did seem to me to be rather hipster in a vaguely Scott Pilgrim kind of way.

And then My Chemical Romance finally got on the stage, and that was just awesome.

They played eighteen songs, and I surprised myself by knowing all but one of them. I sang out all the lyrics as loudly as I could and caught myself doing that head-nodding thing without even realising I was doing it, and didn't get any video because people kept walking in front of me every time I tried. I had one of those awkward feelings near the beginning, where I was shouting out lyrics and then looked around to see nobody else so much as mouthing the words, and several times Ruchia didn't know the words and was, I guess, just watching me singing along ("You were so cute, just sitting there and shouting 'destroya'!") which was also extremely awkward, but I got over myself pretty quickly and just had fun. Even if I wasn't jumping around or dancing or anything, I still thoroughly enjoyed myself. Even though I did end up messing up my back again and singing until I felt physically ill.

And then I got home at 12:20, checked in with mum and ani, set my alarm, and promptly fell asleep.

Yesterday I woke up a bit sniffly but otherwise fine, and I chalked it up to allergies. "That's okay, I'll just take some benadryl before I leave." Well, I forgot to do that (though it turned out that we didn't have any, so that was just as well), but figured that it would probably pass as usual. (Spoilers: It didn't.)

I ate chocolate sundae pie and red velvet pi in precalculus, along with doing all of one problem, and had a slice of pizza in journalism. But by then it was too late. I had not gotten better at all and had, in fact, gotten worse. I felt mildly feverish and several people commented that my colour was off. Still, I resolved to stay at least until lunch, if only so that I didn't have to go up to the office and have my attendance clerk tell me that I was perfectly fine when it was completely obvious that I wasn't (this has happened to me more than once).

Once the lunch bell rang, though, I got out of there as fast as I possibly could.

I walked home, completely miserable, then collapsed onto my bed and kicked the cat out of my room, still thinking my problems were mostly allergies (though by that time I had the sinking feeling that it might have been something else). Mum got home surprisingly early, bestowing upon me the gifts of benadryl and sweet tea, which I accepted eagerly.

The benadryl didn't really make it any easier for me to breathe, though I did fall asleep for about five hours. That was when I knew it wasn't allergies.

So mum went out to get me some cold medicine and tissues, then again to get me something to eat (she could have done it in one trip but, for some reason, chose not to). I took the Nyquil, ate, and then fell back asleep and slept very poorly.

I don't think I've woken up properly since, but I suppose it could just be the cold making me all foggy-headed. But that's okay, because I've got a cat and a new jacket.
