Tuesday, 9 August 2011 01:28 pmLast night one of the lenses of my glasses popped out while I was cleaning them. (Not even the lens I was cleaning; the other one. The one I wasn't even touching.) I had my brother pop it back in for me and carried on. An hour later it popped out again, this time when I wasn't even doing anything. So I took my glasses off, put them away, and carried on without them after complaining a bit - after all, I've only had these glasses for like a week, so that definitely shouldn't be happening.
Today I was abruptly woken up from a strange but pleasant dream by someone honking shave and a haircut on the front lawn in front of my window. That someone was (unsurprisingly) my dad. So I stumbled out of the house and talked to him for a bit, then made my brother get up and talk to him so I didn't have to. Eventually I properly got up and got a shower and got dressed and all that stuff, only to be dragged out to Sunnyvale with my mum. Fortunately on the way back we stopped by Sears so that I could get my glasses fixed. The guy there restrung them and cleaned them (always nice) and now they're good as new.
So! Now that my glasses are fully functional again I should be taking the time to continue reading Atlas Shrugged. (I am not going to talk about Atlas Shrugged other than to say that I have very complicated feelings about it.) Naturally, I'm going to celebrate my newly fixed glasses with some Mass Effect. (Really, there's no contest. Read Atlas Shrugged < Mass Effect. Potentially somewhere between $50 and $10,000 for college < Mass Effect. I don't even have to think about it.)
