Monday, 17 October 2011 02:04 pmI would say I haven't updated in a bit because ~*~important events~*~ but actually I've just kind of forgotten to, really. I've been crocheting like a fiend and also kind of playing Mass Effect, a little bit. I got to that cutscene on Feros! And I can't force my way past it, or at least wasn't able to over the weekend, so I've kind of got that on pause for now.
If you've never known the joys of crocheting (or knitting, I suppose, but I haven't tried knitting and anyway I don't know how) in public spaces, you likely don't know what you're missing. Of course, you really aren't missing anything except for a convenient time to crochet, so it's not really a huge thing. I, for one, have been making excellent use of my ridiculous amounts of free time at school to do stuff, since I've had kind of a lot to do (two sets of elbow-length striped arm warmers, for one...). So basically after speech class I go to the library and crochet and listen to podcasts for two hours, then go to English class, then after that go to the study hall and crochet and listen to podcasts for another hour. You'd think someone would have an issue with such a non-studying activity in an area that's pretty clearly for studying, but you'd be wrong.
Actually, just last Thursday some lady came up behind me while I was crocheting in the library and asked if she could watch me. I don't know why she wanted to, and I actually ended up crocheting even worse while she was watching, but that's how it goes, I suppose.
Over the weekend I did a lot of crocheting and watching videos, so today I figured, well, I'm bringing my laptop with me anyway, I may as well do that. So after my media class I... went down to the study hall, did some maths, then watched LPs and crocheted. Then Let's Play Metroid Prime got too funny for study hall, so I switched to podcasts. (This is the same reason I didn't watch A Very Potter Sequel last week like I was going to, because I got about ten seconds in to where I'd left off before nearly dying of withheld laughter.)
Anyway, I'm nearly done with Pinky's pair of arm warmers and I've already finished Shiki's; I imagine that if I go at it again tonight I can easily finish Pinky's, and then drag my own with me tomorrow. I got the yarn I needed and I'm doing them slightly differently (ridging only when the colour changes and with a much smaller hook) so I imagine they'll look quite nice.
And in the meantime, I've got stats class. Huzzah. <-- thinly veiled sarcasm
