I've been debating with myself whether or not I should update the school paper blog with the articles from last issue. On one hand, playing webmaster was kind of my job. On the other hand, nobody actually told me to do it. This is made more complicated with the fact that school's out, so I don't have access to our server, where the articles (presumably still) are; I'd have to transcribe them all out of the paper copy, which is a pain in the ass to do. Plus then I wouldn't have the online exclusive articles, since those didn't get printed. (Although I think 'online exclusive' was actually code for 'we're pretending it doesn't exist' because I'm pretty sure none of them ever got finished.)

And, you know, school's out. I'm not in high school any more, I'm not in journalism any more. I don't have to do anything. (Though, if the journalism lunch/dinner/whatever it's supposed to be actually happens, I suppose I might feel a bit guilty if I didn't do it.) Even though I meant to do it before school was out, I forgot! So, you know, not my problem any more, right?

I suppose it isn't, but I still feel kinda bad.

Also, shameless plug go: The Adventures of Olivia Shepard! I'm still updating, what with not having beaten the game and all, but I'm about two-thirds of the way through ME2, I figure I can slip in a shameless plug if I want to.

And then I went to prom. It was okay. I danced a bit - the awkward white people kind of dancing - and the dinner was good, but ultimately I think the highlight of the night was the coffee. It was pretty good coffee. (Actually I just hadn't had coffee in a while, but still.) I almost twisted my ankle getting into the limo, then almost fell asleep, then bailed out before the after party even started, because I was kind of tired and uncomfortable and slightly damp from the rain. I got home, talked to my dad, checked my email, then crashed for ten hours.

And then I proceeded to play Mass Effect for seven hours without advancing the plot at all. I did do a lot of assignments, though, and picked up some others I couldn't quite manage, and experienced the horrors of the Mako then got killed by a Thresher Maw.

Then I took my laptop to school! I wanted to play Mass Effect in first but ended up drawing, and I wanted to draw in third but ended up playing Mass Effect. I went to Therum. I got irrationally angry at the Mako, because I kind of hate it, but at the same time I think I'm starting to like it. (I guess it helps that I edited the .ini file so that I get the same XP for kills in the Mako as I do on foot. Rather nice, that.)

Anyway, while I was playing in third, something epic happened. I should have taken a screenshot, but I didn't - I was too busy wtf-ing at it. So I was in the Mako, badly navigating the awkward path on Therum, when I hit something awkwardly and the Mako straight flipped over. I thought it was going to get stuck upside-down, but no - it rolled all the way over and righted itself.

Right onto a piece of debris in the middle of the path. Perfectly balanced, right on top. I thought it was absolutely hilarious, until I realised that I couldn't drive off of it (because the wheels weren't touching the ground) or get out of the Mako (because it wasn't on level ground). I almost reloaded my game.

Then I remembered I had thrusters. Worked like a charm.

Anyway, I've got a huge plate of pasta and meatballs and I'm going to partake, and then go play more Mass Effect. I would eat while playing, but I think I might need two more hands than I've actually got to be able to do both at once.

My Clow cards came in the mail! :D So now I have a set of Clow cards and a set of Sakura cards. I'm thinking I need to at least make a Book of Clow, since those came in just a box. /: The Sakura cards at least have a book-like box, but it's not quite perfect and I am nothing if not a perfectionist (when it comes to things that don't matter). I also plan on making a new and improved seal key! I'm not sure how, though... /: Maybe if I make a clay core, build a wire frame over that, and then put more clay on top of that, it'll be a bit sturdier. And then with paints and some kind of clear coating over it, it should definitely stay together. That would especially help for the star key, or Eriol's key, since they're flat with weird fiddly bits. (Maybe if I just make the heads, and not the key part...?)

Anyway, enough pondering about that! I'm in journalism with nothing to do, I've got a new drawing to work on (foreshortening! foreshortening!!), and I've just eaten two granola bars. I am totally ready (to be bothered with making a work-up of the next issue while I'm trying to make my peace with goddamn foreshortening, which is a far more serious issue).

At least my articles didn't get cut, even if my art did. But that's okay, because it wasn't really for the paper anyway.
