Friday, 7 January 2011 07:50 pmThis would be the first entry from my new computer! :D Her name is Atropos and she's a sexy, sexy beast. (Seriously, though. 17.9" screen! Full keyboard, with a number pad! This is so awesome.) I'm working on transferring files and installing things right now, which would be much, much easier if I could actually set up a network between poor XP-Arata and sexy 7-Atropos, but I tried and it isn't working. ...well, at least I bought a new flash drive. I get to transfer my music and images, 4GB at a time! :D <-- sarcastic smiley
I can't complain, though. She's everything I wanted, and she's beautiful. (Even if I can't make Windows 7 look like Windows 98. Even if there's no starfield screensaver! It's still brilliant.)
Also I got some DVDs. That was mum's idea, of course. But still, I got The Sorcerer's Apprentice which I may totally watch on my new computer that has a working optical drive and VLC player (which I thought I had on Arata but apparently... didn't), and Eclipse, which I really only bought... well, because I haven't seen it yet. I may or may not eventually watch it.
There's a folder on Arata's desktop that contains over 2GB of... huh. Music, probably; I think that's where all my game soundtracks ended up.
Also, I don't know if I'm ever going to get used to a boundary-less touch pad. I keep moving the cursor with the ball of my hand as I'm typing; it's really weird.
Also I bought a new printer! That one was all me. In my defence, it does all the same as the old printer, is smaller, doesn't require expensive Dell brand ink, and was only $40 since we were buying a computer.
...and then I was reminded. How the hell am I going to import my entire iTunes library? I mean, it's only like seven and a half gigs worth of music. ...well, maybe if I take it in batches...
Anyway! Enough rambling. I am off to continue waiting for my Metroid soundtracks to finish copying to Clotho. (Now if only I can find something to call Lachesis, haha.)
