In the meantime, I have an assload of homework to do, which I am currently doing. I can almost always count on my stats problems for a laugh, or perhaps just a chuckle. For example, there was the "A dictator is concerned about his public approval" series of questions, and the "A student wants to test the hypothesis that a certain herb will increase the amount of sleep a person gets" series of questions. This latest one isn't really funny, except perhaps in a "just say what you mean" kind of way - it's a table showing survival counts of passengers on a ship, based on ticket status. It's quite clearly based on the Titanic's, but they don't say that. I mean, I get why they can't say it's the Titanic, because the numbers are slightly different every time you do the problem. But it's funny that they go out of their way to not say it.
One day of school left this week. I didn't actually go in today (which is why I have so much stats stuff to do still) but I really need to go to class tomorrow, so that's what I'm going to do. Since I still have four hours to wait in, if I do all the stats stuff tonight then I can work in the library until I need to charge my laptop, and then go to the study hall. That way I'm less likely to be distracted, and I might actually get some work done. (I was going to work all four hours Monday but then J and M showed up about an hour in and my productivity plummeted. I wrote enough to not be a day behind, but since I didn't do that today I'm more or less back where I started.)
