And then Ashley magicked a video camera from nowhere, so not only did we not have to film with my iPod, but I don't have to do the editing! :D It took us like forty minutes to film, though, because we had to keep stopping while people came in to use the bathroom.

More AVID tutoring. I think I'm getting used to it. It's pretty much exactly the same as it was when I was in AVID, except that I don't have to ask a bunch of questions I already know the answers to. Binder checks aren't that bad, either.

I just walked around the block with my mum. It's apparently a little over half a mile. I wanted to go around twice, but she started feeling it about halfway through, so we couldn't. ): It took us fifteen minutes, too; I could probably have done it in ten or less, but mum's more out of shape than I am so I had to go a little slower than her. And also we stopped for a while to 1) attempt to pet a calico down the block and 2) pet another orange marmalade at the opposite corner. It was so sweet *_____* Such an affectionate kitty <3!

It's so weird not being the one completely out of breath and feeling the burn, and rather being the one who's completely unperturbed by a workout. I was just barely winded, haha. I should have gone around a second time anyway!

Mum just informed me that Nichelle Nichols is speaking at her work next week *_______* I'm so super jealous! D: Apparently Ms. Nichols is a spokesperson for NASA now. I'm really interested to hear what she says! I'll just have to hear it second-hand ):

GS meeting tonight. I still have a tiiiiny bit of work to finish, so I... should probably do that, haha.

And we have another day! \o/ (Yeah, I'm not actually that happy about it. Well, except that today's Wednesday and so school doesn't start until 8:30.)

Monday I thought AVID would suck. Yesterday I realised that I have two days a week where I don't have anything to do after lunch, and I have realised the full awesomeness of that. ...also, I need to find something to do for the hour and a half that I'm not going to be spending in class. Today I think I might just drag my history book to fourth and work on IDs, since there are six due on Friday and another fourteen due on Monday. |:

This morning I decided that I'm thankful for my family, who get my Star Trek jokes, my friends, who get all my other jokes, and my school, much as I don't act like it, because I fully believe that it's the best in the district and everyone else just hasn't realised it yet. I'm thankful for Mr Williams, who cares so intensely about his students, even if he spends half his time yelling at them, and because he got me to understand maths. I'm thankful for Mme Qadir, who makes learning French really awesome, and I hope that the rest of her pregnancy goes well and that she ends up with a healthy baby girl. I'm thankful for Ms. Santillan, even though I don't do homework for her class half the time, because I used to hate US history, and now I think it's kind of interesting (even though I still don't like it). I'm thankful for Ms. Waller, because she's supremely cool and chill, and because she makes me look forward to English every day I have it (even if we do have pop essays). I'm thankful for our library, even if they don't seem to have the series that I really want to read right now, because they've got about a billion other things that I want to read, including Sandman comics which is just totally amazing and which I didn't even figure out until last week.

I'm sure I could come up with more people and/or things that I'm thankful for if I thought about it. I think it's important to be thankful for something every day, and maybe even to tell the people you're thankful for that you think that way, because if you never tell them then you might never get the chance.

In other news, the rate of pregnancy-related deaths has apparently tripled since... some time. Probably like 2000 or something. (I wasn't really paying attention to the news, can you tell?) And it's apparently safer to deliver in Bosnia than it is in California. I can't be the only one who thinks there's something wrong with that.

I have to say, dad's house is a little boring without the PS3. |: Of course, once I told him what I planned to do in an attempt to fix it, he was all, "No. You're not doing that to my stuff." even though at this point, despite not being around when it was installed at all, I probably know more about how it works than he does. And really, it's a lot of unplugging stuff and plugging it back in once it's been moved into the other room.

Also, the word 'cable' can be used in confusing ways. And by confusing ways I mean as a synonym for 'cord,' which gets confusing when you're talking about the cord (or cable) used to connect your cable box to various things, like the television or the modem. Or the cable box, for that matter. "Take the cable cable from the cable and plug it into the modem." What did I actually mean by that?

I got some new mascara and some eyeliner yesterday, though, which... isn't a bad thing. My well-meaning older brother threw out my mascara like a month ago, so I needed to get some more anyway. The eyeliner looked a little strange when I put it on, but then mum did it the same way when I asked her to do it, so I figure it's just the lack of lower lid lining (which... yeah, crayon eyeliner plus lower lid inside the lash line is so not happening).

New classes tomorrow ^o^ It's not as cool as it sounds, really. (Wait, let's take a moment to talk about the doughnuts dad just brought over. They're delicious and also almost entirely all cake doughnuts. I love cake doughnuts. They're my favourite kind. I don't think a lot of people like them, but I love them. :9) Um. Classes. Right. I still have APE/APUSH, and I still have French, though it's right before lunch now instead of right after lunch. I have a math class again (haven't had one in over a year, haha) and... I'm back to AVID, even if only as a tutor.

My feelings on AVID are mixed. I mean, I like Mr Williams and all, he's a good teacher, and he was the first maths teacher I've ever had who I was able to actually learn from. And I think AVID is a great idea, even if it's not a class that I personally need. I just... don't think the two should really go together. /: It's like... temperment-wise, the Williams is a lot like Morooka-sensei from Persona 4. He really is. (Two years ago before Christmas I even quoted the "life-journals and my-places" line during class and everyone thought it was spot-on.) He's not like, "Oh, you guys did really great, let's go on a field trip!" but more like, "If you guys do this and this and this exactly to my liking, you could go on a field trip. That you plan yourselves."

But enough about that. Do knee-socks and business-type skirts look strange together? I want to dress up tomorrow and make a nice impression (haha, yeah, then on Tuesday I come back in combat boots and skinny jeans and two jackets like I always do, that'll look great) but the only nylons I have make my legs look, like, orange. ):
